The Franklin Woman's Club received a Commendation from the Township Council, recognizing the creation and implementation of the pollinator garden at the township gazebo. The garden is a result of club members working together with Rutgers Somerset County Master Gardeners and Rutgers Environmental Stewards, and has been recognized by NJ State Federation of Women's Club as the recipient of the Best Community Improvement Program award. Here is an excerpt from the Commendation:
"Whereas the Franklin Woman's Club, the Rutgers Environmental Stewards, and the Master Gardeners have undertaken an exceptional community improvement program that has...resulted in a model pollinator garden adjacent to the Township gazebo, and educational signage, for the benefit of our environment and education of the residents of Franklin...Now, therefore be it proclaimed by the Mayor and Council of the Township of Franklin, County of Somerset, State of NJ, hereby congratulates and commends the Franklin Woman's Club, the Rutgers Environmental Stewards, and Rutgers Master Gardeners."
