On Saturday, May 17, Franklin Woman's Club will sponsor a fundraising crop at Somerset Presbyterian Church, 100 JFK BLVD, Somerset, NJ, from 10 AM - 9 PM. Crafters can work on projects of their own choosing as well as see a free technique demo and participate in optional Simple Page Scrapbooking and Card Making Make-n-Take sessions. Beginners are also welcome to come for the day or to just stop by for the sessions to learn simple ways to get started with scrapbooking and/or card making. Shoppers are also welcome to drop in throughout the day.
A crop is an event that provides crafters with a dedicated time and space to indulge their hobby in a social setting, similar to an old-fashioned quilting bee! Crops are typically attended by scrapbookers and card makers, but others, like needleworkers and diamond dot crafters, are also welcome. You can come with friends or make new friends while at the crop! A portion of the registration fee for this fundraiser crop will go to Somerset Presbyterian Church in the form of a rental fee; another portion will be donated to the Franklin Woman's Club in support of its scholarship fund and other civic activities.
Full day registration fee is $55 and includes donations to the church and to Franklin Woman's Club, Creative Memories gift for attending, chance at prizes, lunch of sub sandwiches and accompaniments, afternoon sweets and bottled water. The session on creating two simple scrapbook pages will be from 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM and has a $7 materials fee. The session to make 3 easy greeting cards will be from 3:00 - 3:45 PM and has a $7.50 materials fee.
Contact Franklin Woman's Club member Joanne at jmurset@hotmail.com or (cell) 908-227-7278 if you have any questions or would like to sign up for the Simple Pages and/or Card Making sessions.
